Wayside Chili Parlor owned by Josie Jacobs located at 144 lower F Street according to the 1909 City Directory. In doorway, Josie in the middle and both daughters; Enn, who worked at the Hospital and married to Samuel F. Gaines are on the left and older daughter Maude on the right. The pug dog in the picture belonged to Josie’s youngest son Orlando (known as Jake). Picture taken about 1909-1912.
Brick terrace building owned by George and Josie Jacobs located 140 lower C Street, corner of Sackett and C. Across from the hospital. Triplex is still there in 1996, painted a brilliant red over the brick. Only persons known are on right end unit: Josie, George, Orlando their son, and a pug dog. The couples standing nearby could be daughter Enn and husband Sam Gaines, Maude their daughter, and a friend.
